The international mission excursion experience is the capstone of each young adult’s SEND adventure. SEND young adults participate in a mission experience for two weeks to the poorest of the poor. This is a cross-cultural experience, as a group, to Central America or an area of the Caribbean. Young adults are never the same after this excursion.

“I was blown away at what my spiritual eyes saw. I saw people who valued relationship so much they didn’t care that I was speaking 
English and they spoke Spanish. I saw people and children who didn’t have much to give but gave what they had, I saw God in all His glory working in the people of Siguatepeque. I also saw parents who had jobs but even with what they made they still couldn’t afford to feed their children, I saw children who just wanted affirmation; who were so desperate for praise and affection that they fought for it from us. I saw men and women who had gone through hell and came back with a passion to bring those still suffering out.”
“In Honduras we visited three children’s homes and one elderly home and in progressing order each children’s home impacted me more than the last. When we were down there God showed me a sincere, pure, free love that went beyond the head.”
“We went to 2 orphanages. I liked seeing the children and interacting with them. I painted faces and put on fake tattoos. One little 8 year old girl named Mighty didn’t like the french braid I put in my hair so she pulled it out and redid it for me. We went to a rehab similar to Teen Challenge. We went to a day care too. A little girl there kept calling me mom and was real attached to me. That was the hard one to leave. We went to a nursing home and spent time with the people there too. We went several thousand feet up in the mountains to reach most of these places.”
