Scott head shot

Scott Pattison

In our discipleship and missionary training process we have over 50 teachers that teach over 75 teachings throughout our journey. The Lord has blessed this ministry with so many incredible teachers who serve and share years of ministry experience and wisdom with our young adults. These teachings and our amazing teachers are what makes our process so fantastic and unique to other types of discipleship training programs in the United States. Throughout this SEND training year 13-14 we would like to share with you the incredible servants who teach in SEND in a segment called: SEND Teacher Spotlight! For this week, we introduce Pastor Scott Pattison!

What classes do you in teach in SEND?

  • Great Awakenings in the fall and The Meaning of the Resurrection in the spring

What is your background? (school/credentials)

  • B.A. in Psychology from Huntington University (with an ecumenical journey starting at Taylor University for 2 years, Ft. Wayne Bible College for 1 and my last 37 hours at Huntington University) – 1985.
  • M.Div. (Master of Divinity) from Anderson University School of Theology – 1988
  • D.Min. (Doctor of Ministry) with a focus on leadership development – 2011
  • Licensed Local Pastor in 1985
  • Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church 1990

Where do you serve the Lord and for how long have you been in ministry?

  • I am currently the Lead or Sr. Pastor at Trinity Church in Kendallville. It is a United Methodist congregation. I have been here for 8 ½ years
  • I have been serving as a United Methodist Pastor since 1985

What is your favorite thing about SEND North America?

  • I love the missional focus of “going”; the “hands on” mentoring; helping young adults discern and train while discerning as they not only make a difference now, but train for future ministry, and of course the students and their leader Josh!

What would people be surprised to know about you?

  • I love punk, rockabilly and metal music (mostly Christian). I like to relax to the Altar Boys, Undercover, 77’s, the Lifters, Steve Taylor, Stryper, Ken Tamplin, Shout, Guardian, Rez band, Barnabas, Flat Foot 56, (and ClassicChristian24/7.com), and the best Christmas music is Trans Siberian Orchestra.
  • And I went to first grade with Billy Vukovich III (Indy and Sprint car driver) He was going to race [which he did] and I was going to be his head mechanic [yeah that did not happen].

Thanks Pastor Scott! You are a great teacher and friend of SEND! It is a true privilege to be connected with you and Trinity! Thanks for all you do not only for SEND but for what you and your amazing church does out in the world for our community!
