I really enjoy attending the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit every year because  it starts with a teaching by Bill Hybels – which is always powerful, clear, and useful.

Bill’s focus on productivity that occurs when we are in a position of “somewhat challenged” makes so much sense.  Doesn’t it just feel like the environment Jesus provided for His disciples?

The next generation of young adult leaders is not attracted to most traditional approaches to prepare for serving God.  I see an emerging added dimension of boot-camp, hands-on, in-community, short-term, hard-core training for young adults, in which they are often on the edge of uncomfortable.  Isn’t that the environment where we begin to walk by faith, not by sight?

What do you think?
