In Matthew 14:22-33 we read the story of Jesus walking on the water toward His disciples in a boat on the Sea of Galilee. It was early, long before sunrise, and the men were frightened as the Teacher approached them, believing He was a ghost. Jesus spoke to them to calm their fears, and then invited Peter to step out of the boat and to walk to Him upon the water.

It took boldness to step out of that boat, faith and boldness. And as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked safely across the rolling waves.

We, at Church Doctor Ministries believe that Jesus is calling us to join in the great adventure of breathing life into the Church in North America through a process of equipping new disciples with revival DNA and preparing congregations to receive them. It is stretching us beyond our comfort zones, to be sure! But the Holy Spirit is filling us with the faith and boldness we need to stretch, to step out, to walk with Jesus along this new and exciting way.

Have you ever experienced this kind of life-changing invitation from Jesus? Have you “stepped out of the boat” to walk to Him and with Him? Please, tell us your story of faith and boldness! Send it to me at chrysannetimm@churchdoctor.org, and I will share it with our prayer warriors.

Let us pray…and let us be encouragers to one another!

  • Thank God for the students who have moved from provisional status to fully-enrolled in the first SEND unit.
  • Praise God for the Holy Spirit’s work of faith in all our students’ lives – their desire to “get out of the boat” and walk with Jesus in the SEND North America movement
  • Ask that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts of those whom our students are approaching for prayer and mission support (Each student needs to find at least 10 households who will support them for 10 months at $50 a month)
  • Pray for Josh as he continues to share the SEND North America story and call to mission, that his love for Jesus and desire to walk with Him will continue to be compelling. Pray that God will continue to show Josh the people of peace who will want to bless and be a part of this movement.
  • Continue to ask for God’s gracious provision of all our students’ needs – housing, part-time employment, safety as they relocate to northeast Indiana
  • Pray for CDM staff member Olive, recovering from a recent fall, and for all of our staff, that they may stay healthy and keep their eyes focused on Jesus as we move closer to the September launch of SEND North America.
Pray, knowing it all depends on God, and work as if it all depends on us!
